Morning , I have this Lenovo Ideapad 320

Not switching on. I have done all the usual reset stuff .
When I pull the Keyboard ribbon and add a USB keyboard it boots up perfectly.
With the Keyboard ribbon connected , shows the Lenovo spash screen and switches off.
The power button also don't work on the keyboard . I can boot up by pressing the reset button .

I have stripped the laptop to the bare bones . only keyboard connected to motherboard and still it switches off .

The keyboard must have some short or power drain on it . (open to ideas )

Where can I get one in SA , that is not over priced

I have the same issue. This method solved the problem

Step 1: Remove the charger or any other external device like USB Keyboard/Mouse/Camera etc.
Step 2: Shut Down the system properly.
Step 3: Now press Fn+S+V (For disabling the internal battery) (for 20 Seconds)
Step 4: Now take a pin and put it in the Factory Reset hole and press for confirming step 3 is done properly or not. (only side light will glow)
Step 5: Connect the charger now.
Step 6: Again follow step 4, this time system will restart and you will get 4 options.
Step 7: Chose BIOS Setup and hit enter.
Step 8: Press F9 for default BIOS setting then yes and exit with save changes.

This should perform a reset on the computer, then allow the keyboard to work. It is unclear whether or not the user lost files during the procedure, in this case, I would assume this performs a factory reset to the software as well as the hardware just to be safe, make sure you back up user files if at all possible before the procedure is followed.
