Sports lovers in South Africa should be grateful for a platform like DStv, where major events are available live, in one place, at a reasonable price.

This is the view of MyBroadband reader Ridhwaan, who wrote in from Australia to offer his view about DStv — and specifically SuperSport — since moving abroad.

Brave man, complimenting DSTV around these parts!

He should see what we have here in the UK. Sky is miles ahead of DSTV and can cost more. Having it installed next Friday. Can’t wait.

DSTV is simply a rip off, and full of repeats and crappy UI. No thanks.

You also earn pounds, cannot just convert the Sky subscription.

I agree. Supersport is amazing. I’m still sore that I can’t even watch the Saturday 3pm premier league kick off on tv. I can forget about watching international cricket or rugby unless one of the teams is from Great Britain or Europe. You need multiple subscriptions/pay per view etc…

DStv Premium's declining subscriber numbers say all that needs to be said about consumer appetite for ultra-expensive TV subscriptions.

I wish they'd try a sport-only subscription, even if it was R599. There is no scenario where I'd watch a minute of any other channel on DStv, so any saving is appreciated.
