Based on the name of this thread i was wondering if anyone has had an experience using the LG 22" 10000:1 LCD??? Good, Bad or In between???

A number a friends and I are looking at buying it, but I don't see it on the LG South Africa website. Does this mean SA is just slow or is it that they won't be providing after sales support for it?

Any help regarding this screen will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You:D

you may want to look at hardware sellers instead - for example the samsung site in sa may not show all the equipment that is brought into the country.

After my crap with Samsung's 22" and their warranty... I'd go with LG... the repair cener said they give the least hassle...Samsung the most.

So am I assuming correctly then that the LG is a whole heap better than Samsung?

Now based on the other posts and threads with respect to the the Samsung 2232GW and the LG W2252TQ-PF which is better? The main difference I see is the contrast Samsung 3000:1 compared to LG 10000:1.

Many Thanks :$

No sure... I have the Samung 2232GW... and it seems to be the luck of the draw... I'd go with the LG just to be safe... also, the 10000:1 is probably a dynamic contrast.

Yup true contrast on the samsung is 1000:1. Then again ive read that the 10000:1 makes no difference whatsoever as we cannot perceive it? The new 2232GW's are all supposed to be s-panels as far as im aware.Truth be told both screens are probably excellent so just pick the one that suits you the best;)

Yip that is the one.

What does it mean by the "original 700:1" ??? Is that the minimum or is that the real contrast ratio?

As far as im aware it's the "real" contrast ratio of the monitor.

It really is, seen it for about R3000 exact in other places, but i know you know someone down in KZN who can get it for R2899 ;)

To bad there are few hundred kilometres keeping us apart:p

226bw isn't high gloss, only the 2232GW. Doesn;t mean its a trashy screen if it has a 700:1 contrast ratio, maybe the DC is great? Well the 2232GW is on special for R2616 atm at digitalsaonline(or systemshock forums).

A friend of mine has that exact screen. It's amazing.... both during the day and the night (ie you can see the screen if the sun is shining on it). I wouldn't go for anything else. It costs in the range of R3000 when I last checked and is well worth the money.

The Samsung 226BW isn't glossy (thank goodness :D), but I still find the dynamic contrast ratios that the manufacturers love quoting kind of hard to swallow... Rather give me the constant ratio ;)

The 226BW is awesome - just make sure you don't get one with backlight bleed and if you do, take it back straight away!
