My current screen is a Samsung 32 inch TV 5 series. Thinking of upgrading to this baby. LG 29EA73 UltraWide 21:9 Monitor. is it worth the 10k

What do you want to use it for?

It won't be worth it if you primarily use the TV for watching videos, because all of the videos are 16:9 aspect ratio!

It's much cheaper to just get 2x 16:9 monitors...

If the only thing you watch on it are anamorphic super wide screen movies then yes.

Otherwise it's pointless, and everything else that's designed for 16:9 (or even worse) 4:3 will look super elongated.

No TV broadcast is 21:9.

We typically run 2x 23" (1920x1080 / 16:9) screens off our Dell laptops with our software developers. This way you're spending only like 4-5k on the screens.

Like one developer in our office is running 4 external screens off his laptop, by using an USB to DVI+HDMI adapter, but those screens aren't that responsive though.

The thick bezels can be annoying though, but then again, you can easily tilt the screens into portrait mode - like many people prefer, because 3840x1080 could be a bit wide and not enough pixels in height. This is why I prefer my 30" Dell IPS (2560x1600) over 2x 23" screens in portrait/landscape mode, because it has enough pixels in height and its not too wide. Unfortunately a replacement for it would now be over R15k, unless I take a 27" (2560x1440) screen for around R7k.

The other advantage of that LG screen is that it has an IPS panel, so the colour accuracy should be very good compared to cheap 23" TN panels.
You do get the same kind of 21:9 screen from Dell for much less (~R7.3k), however it may not be in stock at this moment: http://www.wootware.co.za/dell-u291...60x1080-black-ultra-wide-desktop-monitor.html
