LG launches monster 325-inch 8K TV — and it will smash your Eskom bill

South Korean electronics company LG has unveiled its biggest TV yet for home users — the Direct View LED (DVLED) Extreme Home Cinema Display.

Like Samsung's The Wall TV, the display is modular and made up of several panels, allowing it to be scaled from 81 inches to 325 inches, with resolutions ranging from 2K FHD to 8K UHD.

I suppose you will not need a heater in winter, either.

But the A/C will run double time in summer o_O.

The maximum power you can draw from a wall socket is 15 amps or around 3600 Watts
For this beast you will need to plug it into the stove outlet, no wait, that's only 20 amps
You cannot run this telly at home
Useless

The company estimates that the installation, warranty, and support offered with the TVs alone are worth $30,000 (R430,248), so it’s likely the displays won’t come cheap.

Plus about another R5 million for new house with high ceilings, judging by the pictures.

Nope, you'd generally need a special connection from Eskom just for this unit as a residential connection is generally only 80A and this will suck up pretty much all of it.

That 16560 Watts power draw is almost as much as our 18000 Watt light here requiring 88 Amps
