The projector is on an even surface but the display is skew as s***. Either that or the model has too much clothing on.

Why would it? it says it can throw a picture from 50cm? so techincally it should be possible

Fair enough. If the projector and the model is on the same Z-axis. That would make it a pretty big projector or a small model, though.
But all things considered, I've seen better photoshopping on that old Xena TV show than on this pic
