LG Optimus 3D – first 3D smartphone arrives in SA

But is it a gimmick

Nintendo 3DS certainly was impressive the 1st time I tried it... after the initial wow it is just more of the same
 
Well if we want our future to improve in tech, we have to go through what we think is cool / or not so cool.

Atleast we advancing and we have the latest tech in S.A :)
 
hold onto your socks the hardware can upgrade to 2.3 !!!! ta da fail. Isnt 2.3 already old? And who in there right mind is going to buy this thing. coz how will u view the 3d images outside of ur phone. I think the screen is supposed to be the same as a nintendo 3dfails ?
 
The people who buy this should be thrown into pits of burning plastic, along with the phone.

What the hell is everyone on about. This is a fast, 3D cellphone running Android how the hell can that be a bad thing? Its like everyone believes this thing to be the devil!
 
LG roms are reportedly pretty bad... Loads of bloat-ware included and they are way behind the curve as far as the OS version goes, but you can always root

I was rather wondering if the screen will add any value to the experience

I think it will. I also think there's a very vocal minority that hate 3D screens, which is why all the 3D bashing happens on forums.

The next post after yours pretty much answered you there. Add to that horrible build quality and you have the unreliability of LG phones.
 
Looking the benchmarks this phone does perform nicely... Maybe if you can get it cheap it would be a viable option :)
