When my domestic retired I got her eyes tested and bought her a pair of glasses.
Aside from that, I'm a cnut.

Adopted about 7 kids; bring them into our home, put them through school and get them a job to kick-start their life journey.

If I take an item off the shelf at a supermarket and then later realize I don't want it, I'll go back and put it back where I took it from. I know most people just ditch things wherever but the products don't all walk back to their correct shelves at closing time.

LOL I feel like a criminal if I don't do this! It just feels so wrong to just dump it anywhere.

For real? :erm:

Well done!
Yep. Last one left home last year. Most was 2 at a time as we have 2 kids of our own... currently have 1 foster kid back home as his position was downgraded and he cannot afford to stay on his own any more.

Have a place along the Wild Coast, every xmas we try to take soccer balls and dolls for the local children in the area.
Space is a bit limited most of the time as we have 2x dogs and my 2yr old son and another boy on the way.

Most people throw sweets and such which seems rude, we pick a windy day and drive into rural area and give out old clothes, soccer balls and dolls.
I usually ask people at my work to donate what they can.
The one girl I gave a donated teddy bear to and her friend got my bafana bafana t-shirt , she hugged that thing so tight I thought it's eye's where going to pop out it's head.

I'll be taking stuff down in the June long weekend again.

Used to volunteer at Child Welfare but stopped when my kid came along, it was just too depressing seeing and hearing what the kids go through in this country.
The wife used to help with the accounting, luckily they have a new lady there that doesnt take ***.

Respect to some of the people in this thread!

I regularly give money away, or buy the poor people who beg at the spar near my house food, even though I only bring home relatively little after tax. I had to tell my bro one day coz we were walking and one of the guys who knows me came up and asked me if I had anything. When I told him how much I give away per month he was like wtf since it was a relatively large % of my income.

I have also given my lunch away to some of the homeless people in my area, even though I was hungry because I knew I would eat later.

I generally pack my "old" clothes into bin bags and give them to the homeless people as well but they seem to have moved from their regular spot this year, and when I bump into them it's not like I have my old clothes on me.

While I do like helping people, sometimes it can be a bit much since most of these guys know me on a first name basis. One of the guys kept on pressuring me into giving him something when I told him I had nothing to spare and eventually I snapped and told him off. Shouted at him telling him I don't have a car or my own place, and I try to keep the things in my life simple so I can help people like him and he must **** off. Told him to go beg from one of the guys who is rich and drives a nice car and owns a house instead. Quite a few people in the parking lot were staring.

I still help the guys who are polite to me when I can but damn, that guy pissed me off.

Also, it made me understand what a hot girl must feel like when she gets hassled by guys...

Not me, my wife!!!

You and your wife are extremely kind people! Is it not difficult to adopt a child? I always wanted to have 2 of my own children and then adopt a child and give that child a better life but I was always under the impression that its nearly impossible to adopt a child these days.
