Lightening Arresters...

Hi all,

A couple of questions:

1) Can I put a lightening protector in line with my DSL line to my router without adversely affecting the line quality?

2) Is there any other way if this is not feasible?

Before I go out and buy an expensive surge protector, would be handy to see what others have done.
