My line stopped working on te 26th. Phoned telkom and telkom said it had been stolen. Now I have to wait for them to replace it.

Now I have 3Gb left on my monthly ISP account that i planned to use on downloads but no i can't use it as I have no line. :( :(

I guess I was lucky today. I saw TELKOM working on my neighbours line when I came home, Lucky I had the feeling lets check my line. Low an behold he cut my line so I could tell him quickly before he left. Otherwise I had to wait probaly for days for them to come back and fix up their error

Just checked and 3.94Gb on my account left.

On a slow 356K line even if they are fast and fix it tomorrow I won't be able to use it all up. :(

I doubt he cut your line as such?
He used your line to give to the neighbour?
You just found out before he left the scene. :p

Standard practice for Telkom.
They just shift the problem to someone else, probably because there were no spare lines close at hand?
They did it to me a few months ago, when they came to install a new line for a neighbour. I had no service for 2 days until another Techie came out as they had taken my line for the neighbour according to him.
He had to string a new line from another pole so I could get service.
And I run our business from that line, not that they would care now would they?

reminds me of this crazy man, he climbed up his pole and connected his own line and brought it down to his house. apparently he used a network cable to do the connection.
he says now he has no latency :-S
