Line speed not returning to what it was a month ago!

Hi everyone

I have had a really frustrating past few days with my ADSL line(managed by Afrihost - but don't they at fault, I suspect Telkom!).

I had the line installed in June, and it was running fine at around 6mb. I went away for most of July so I dropped the speed to 1mb. Since my return, last week I have been trying to up my speed back to 6mb, but Afihost can only get it up to 2mb!!!!

Does anyone know of something I could do? Afrihost say they can't do anything about it

The guys/girls over at @Afrihost on twitter have been excellent with my latest issues, and "Can't do anything about it" doesn't seem to be something they consider an answer. Have you tried bringing it up there?

Really sorry to hear about this. Is your line on Fast DSL 2Mbps profile, or are you on a 4Mbps profile synced at 2Mbps? Please PM me with your details so I can chat to our guys and find out if there is anything we can do :(

Just an update on what happened regarding the line speed.

Afrihost was very helpful, thank you!

Telkom on the other hand, terrible! I called and called until I got hold of someone at Telkom that could help, for some reason Telkom kept telling Afrihost that the exchange could only handle 2mb, but this is incorrect as it is capable of much more! The chap at Telkom sorted it out for me and am now getting 8mb without any issues!
