Hi all

My line died on Tuesday, logged a fault with Telkom as voice and dsl were down. I got a call today while at work to say it's up again and syncing.

Got home now, and indeed the line is syncing... But my openweb acc doesn't want to connect. Tried an afrihost, and even the Telkom guest account without success....

Any ideas what may be going on? Seems like it's still a fault on Telkoms side as it's not account specific, but seems so weird....

Try without port filters & without telephone?

Get Telkom to port reset for good measure. Its what they'll suggest anyway.

Tried without success.

Found my old faithful duoplus Telkom router... Interestingly it's not even syncing (other modem is a dlink dsl2500u)

I guess for now I'll have to wait for Telkom to advise what is going on...

Clearly its still a Telkom problem - phone them and get them to reopen the fault. (Dont open a new fault)

Hi There,
I am with gregmcc re-open the fault.
Have you tried your router at another location just in case the router is faulty?
You must also test as has been said with all connections, filters, splitters etc removed in case one of them is the cause of the problem

Regards

Tim

Hi

So an update... It was bugging me that the duoplus router wouldn't sync, and I couldn't put it out of my mind that maybe My dlink modem was failing me, so I went and bought a new belkin router.

It synced immediately (like the dlink), but again would not connect to any account including guest@telkomadsl

BUT, the good news is, when I fished through the logs I see it's timing out after sending PADI... Which when I search through these forums looks like it's not that uncommon, and I need a port change...

I've sent a message to telkomza, hopefully can get this resolved soon.... But it is a frustrating process

A further update. Had a helpful telkom tech out at my place who confirmed my issue. He went to the exchange to change my port, but apparently there is no more space on the card? (My interpretation of this as i don't really understand, is that my port is stuffed, but there's no spare to swap me to...?)

Frustratingly, apparently the card was replaced as part of the original dead-line fault...

So now i have to wait for another team to now decide whether to repair the card, or add a new one or something... I'm getting the sense my fault is still a way away from being resolved...
