Linking two routers, 315 for LTE and Belkin for DNS problem

I have scoured the net and for the life of me cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I want to link up a second router which can accept alternative DNS settings for my KODI set up which will connect to my box via LAN from the second (DNS adjusted) router. I don't need to connect anything else to the second router.

I have connected the 315 from a LAN port to the WAN port of the second router (2nd router reset to default) but am getting confused about what IP settings to use on the second router so it connects to the internet of the first.

Help appreciated.

I suppose it's not possible to just change the DNS server on the local machine that hosts Kodi? That would be the best way to do it

Otherwise the best would be to enable DHCP on primary router, give the second router a IP in that range and make a reservation on the first one. Then enter the DNS settings on the second router and point your Kodi host to the second router.

ie if Belkin is main router

Belkin : 192.168.1.1 DHCP enabled, DNS defualt
315 : 192.168.1.2 Static IP. DHCP disabled, DNS pointing to wherever you need.
KODI : DNS servers : 192.168.1.2

Other machines will point to your main router (192.168.1.1) for DNS

From what I understand this should sort you out

Why do you want to install a second router? You can configure the Kodi device with its own DNS settings.
You can use OpenDNS ip 208.67.220.123 and/or 208.67.222.123 as an example!

I have a Unotelly account and have not been able to find a way to change the KODI DNS to their DNS.

For tutorial look here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/800715-Huawei-LTE-B593-B315-setup-for-Unotelly-streaming

However you don't need another router. Read post #9 in the above thread how to force B315s to accept manual DNS.
