Linus Tech Tips channel hijacked, pushing crypto scam using Elon Musk's face

Not surprising. Watching their videos is like watching an idiot fall ass backwards into success.
Linus drop test tips.

If this is the theft method used by others recently they:
1. Hijack the channel using a stealer trojan grabbing all the login cookies masquerading as a "sponsorship" deal
2. Change the MFA (google allows you to change MFA without reauthenticating - genius)

I like LTT, but I do question some IT practices they have, and they shouldn't do audio. In the case this incident is malware related it also kinda exposes a video they made not too long ago. I won’t be surprised that an email was used as bait. I do hope that they come right, it is never good to be exposed like this.

It isn't Google who errored here; a similar exploit is used with Steam's authentication. People may be tech savvy, but not all are security conscious.

Discord has also become a dangerous place especially where you have to do channel authentication, and a malicious bot is set up to intercept the user prior to using the true authentication. Easy trap, and it is not easily monitored and prevented.
