Linux and Virtual PC

Does anybody know if it is possible to load Linux on MS Virtual PC/VM Ware. We are needing a linux box, but want to run it on a virtual machine.

I have tried the installation of Ubuntu 6 on Virtual PC and it freezes.

Thanks, I was able to get it past the freezing only once I had installed VPC SP1.

Now it seems like it isn't installing a boot manager. When it restarts the machine it is asking for a boot device.
