Iburst + Freebsd

Good Evening

I have pretty new to the whole Iburst thing and I have say that I pretty happy with it so far. ( I really hate anything to do with telkom but that is a rant for another post)

The current problem I have though is that I want to setup a FreeBSD server to handle all internet traffic at home but I'm new to iburst and to FreeBSD so I have no cooking clue how to setup this up.

I have tried plugging the iburst utd in to a small switch via Ethernet cable and also the FreeBSD box in to the same switch.

my one nic (fxp0) can see the router and has a active connection, I tried setting up the following ppp.conf file:

default:
set log Phase tun command # you can add more detailed logging if you wish
set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0

name_of_service_provider:
set device PPPoE:fxp0
set authname UsErNaMe
set authkey PaSsWoRd
set dial
set login
add default HISADDR

when I try run: ppp pppoe I get the following results:

working in interactive mode
usign interface: tun0
warning : bad lable in /etc/ppp/ppp.conf (line 24) - missing colon

Attempting redial

I have got the linux drivers for 2.6 and I read somewhere on the internet that I could use a wrapper but I have no idea of how this would work?

Any ideas?
Rudi

your topic is an oxymoron in itself

linux: iburst UTD + freebsd ?

sorry but FreeBSD != Linux

Freebsd is a little more of a unix OS and not linux.

Freebsd Junkies like some of the dudes I know would have a fit if you said that they were the same.

but anyway

Post your ppp.conf

let me take a look see

freebsd is better suited for servers
linux is better suited for desktop machines
