I was going to move to cell c today but now I can't because of this.

Actually you and me both. With their good deals they launched last year I was planning on porting my number over to them now and then porting my wife and sons at a later stage, however with all the crap I have been hearing about their network as well as their website problems (in another topic) I don't think I want to anymore.

Only problem is all the Cellular companies seem to be full of cr@p!

By the time it takes me to read a page of this thread my connection will be gone. The Connector says I'm connected, there are five bars, but no data is coming through, except for the first 30 seconds after reconnecting for the hundredth time! Just a constant barrage of "time-out" and "server not found".

I'll probably have to reconnect just to post this damn reply! :mad:

Has been a constant issue for almost a week now!

Birch acres tower id 6765021 has been working fine for me for the past week until today (Sunday)...couldn't connect since around 12 noon .only got connection just after 23:00....come on CellC, you don't want to see me go...8ta treated me well when came to data

Since the beginning of February I have been unable to use my CellC data after sunfall, despite full signal strength. Faerie Glen, Pretoria East. Have submitted complaint to CellC and complained a number of times in this forum but there is no improvement.

I knew that going over to CellC 2 months ago would be a bit of a gamble which is why I stuck with pre-paid so that I could port back if I was unhappy. Unfortunately the gamble has not paid off at all so I will be porting my number back to Vodacom this week. Since the sh*t started they've only once publicly admitted that they were experiencing a "problem" on their network and even though countless people are still complaining they continue to remain silent.

No point in having a well priced data bundle when I can't use it 80% of the time. As others here have said, I'd rather pay more for internet that actually WORKS.

It's getting worse, tomorrow I'm lodging a complaint with icasa , have been unable to make calls, 9/10 drop, and the 1 that does go through, is such poor quality, you can't hear anything

A home, my once working hsdpa, is now vodacom edge (roaming)

Today my phone has no network - it says emergency calls only

Tried rebooting, manually selecting network etc....no Joy

Same problem In Kyalami. No phone calls and internet is non existent. signal dropped to under 30%.

Am done with Cell C. So done, I am porting my number today with out any delay. Tired of messing around with my settings to get the best possible data connection for internet. I am in 2013 not 1981

Umhlanga is having problems with data now as well. Might be because all the holiday makers are starting to come down for the long weekend.

East London is totally buggered since last week. Max about 1/4 of dial-up speed.

Can we say that the whole area has issues if you have issues?

It's very patchy in the La Lucia area (Armstrong). You get 3G but sometimes you get data, and sometimes you do not. It's a gamble.

Im in Effingham, Durban north. Phone reports full reception but not data coming through. Have to kill data connection a few times just to connect to net again. There maybe an IP or data balancing issue on the network or somebody has caused a loop on the network and cant find the problem.. somebodies probably gotten fired already and hasnt told Cell C how to fix the problem.

Get this, i phoned the call centre last Saturday. call center agent sends me to network agents. the dude tells me to switch off my phone cause he wants to investigate my cell number which is having data problems and wants me to call him from another number. BUT i dont have another cell c number to call from and if i use vodacom i will get charged. I asked him call me on vodacom number, his response "I would love to call you back but i work in a call center and cant make calls to subscribers"... MAJOR FAIL.

A day after my first post my speeds where really good for about eight hours. I have the day off tomorrow so I figured I could use the web till about 2am before turning in, expecting some really good speeds. Well it's 2am and NOTHING. Full signal, no data coming through. Same problem! Back to that awful EDGE I go!

I really regret getting that Mygig 200 now. CellC, you are a disgrace! Paying through the nose and receiving nothing is theft! I hope someone with more resources than I decides to sue your asses!
