Hey guys
I have a Mecer 2.4KVA/1440W Inverter with 2 x 100AH 12 V batteries and it has served me pretty well over the past 2 years but now it starts beeping after about an hour of TV and laptop use, so it seems the lead acid batteries are just on the way out.

According to this

replacing the batteries with lithium ion will go to about R4790, which isnt terrible. My question is, do I need to buy 2? Can I use this same inverter with 1 x 600Wh lithium ion battery? In truth I need to power a laptop and a TV, I have a little mini ups for fiber so I am covered there. If I can keep running with R2395 cost thats not really a bad result.

Also, will I get anything back for the old lead acid batteries?

Many thanks in advance guys!!

It's a 24V Inverter, so you need 2 x 12V Batteries = 24V.

It would be nice if one of the local brands made a 24 V drop-in replacement for these but I haven't seen one.

And if you search there's a Mecer Inverter thread. Plenty to read. Can't just pop in 2 lithium batteries. Need to add a balanced charger. Or some thingamajik that balances the batteries.
