That's my point, I'm not just talking of the top 2. I'm also talking of the relegation. The Championship, League 1, League 2. So many moving parts.

Best thing to do is cancel the whole thing, everyone stays in their respective leagues and go again 20/21.

And where had Man City conceded loss or unattainablility?

Leicester.

They’re in third now. They finished ninth last year.

Why should their run of 29 games be punished with no European football?

Conversely, why should Arsenal, who are thirteen points and six places *behind* Leicester be rewarded with European football just because the finished fifth a year ago?

Bournemouth drop right now but were 14th last year, so Watford, who are ahead of them get relegated?

Best thing?

Explain that to the foxes and the hornets.

Good points.

Who decides Liverpool wins then?

You talk about "punishing Leicester" but then you're "awarding Liverpool" prematurely? Surely that's not logical.

Math.

If City win every game, including one against Liverpool, they get to 87 points. Liverpool have nine to play and are on 82 right now.

City need 30 from 30. Liverpool need 6 from 27.

Logically, which seems easier to achieve?

I'm not talking about Maths, I'm talking about ethics now.

Ethically?

City have indicated they wouldn't object to Liverpool being named champions. They're the ones who should have the last say, no?
I don't think it should be up to any club. It should be up to the regulators.

Thea league's scoring system is not like a round robin or world cup where a team may choose to save their best for last and play worse at that start so they can play better at the end. It's a "who gets the most points win" competition. Shortening the season to N number games instead of N+9 is fair.

The only issue is that some teams haven't played as many games as the others (1 less) and have an outside chance of still getting a European spot should they win those and other factors fall in their favour.

Ethically it would wrong to not give them the title. Nobody would bet against them should the competition continue and they have played the majority of games.

You honestly can't say they don't deserve this title. Come on now.

Nobody? Lol I'm betting against them. So will every United fan and Liverpool hater.

But yes, kudos they've had a brilliant season. Besides this debate, it's deciding the fate of the top 4/6, relegation etc.

What about the Laliga where there like a 2 point difference in the top.

If you're a United fan, you're 37 points behind us on the table. If you win all of your remaining games, you get to 72 points... Still 10 points behind Liverpool who wouldn't need to kick another ball.

Liverpool fans should worry about your feelings why, exactly?

Listen my opinion is that they shouldn't be granted the title, that's my opinion. But if they are awarded the title arbitrarily, I have no say on that.

So, a team that look bang-on to win the league in the next two weeks - at most - haven't *earned* it.

I see.

Sure.

Forget that. If the season plays out until they could still get relegated. Technically they are still in the drop zone.

As a Liverpool supporter, I feel that the remaining games have to be played to conclude the season even if it's behind closed doors. Euro's should be moved to next year to accommodate the remainder of the season's matches not just for EPL but for all leagues/tournaments. Let's see what the virus situation is come April.

It's all running on ifs and buts at the moment. If Liverpool had won the game they drew, and hadn't lost to Watford they'd mathematically be champions already. But as it stands, they'd still need to win their next 2 games to be 100% sure that no-one could catch them until the end of the season.

The FA can't assume, especially on their recent form, that Liverpool would go on to win the next 2 matches. Or guess the results of the remainder of their matches. They can't even say that they're guaranteed to have beaten teams in the bottom half of the table, because they got spanked by Watford. So, they're mathematically not safe yet. Man City, for all we know, could've gone full demon and won every single match, while Liverpool may have continued to struggle until the end.

Unless they decide to resume the league and play into the summer, there really won't be a fair way to decide it. While Liverpool, based on their season before Watford totally deserve the title, we need to understand that league tables run on points, not feelings.

I'm pretty sure the delay will be followed with plans to complete the season in the summer... I'm all for that, even if stadiums are empty.

Everything depends on the Coronavirus curve 'tho.
