Wow Karius... just proven to be worse than Mignolet... all that hard work to shake off the shaky start to his Pool goalkeeping career and he takes the title back from Mignolet on the biggest competition

Ah well.

Great run to get the final and not outplayed at all.

Bale worldy it must be said - deserved.

Karius, feel for him but he's just not good enough.

We go again next year.

AOC in crutches still. Hope Salah will light up the WC, don't see him there.

Question marks against Karius most of the season, it makes it easier to move on to a upgrade now.

I hope UEFA will look at the two Ramos instances and take appropriate action the way he took out Salah was like a Martial arts move.
Then the play acting tackle that never was to try and get Mane sent off.

Ramos is the Richie McCaw of football. A brilliant player, but also a pro at gamesmanship. His red card record shows that he gets caught out a lot, but as we saw again tonight, he gets away with it more often than not.

I felt that all the hype, and all the energy, from Liverpool hobbled off with Salah. And that was thanks to Ramos. Sure, Mane got you back into it (briefly), but without the threat of Salah, the game had already swung in Madrid's favour - and then you had to rely on the only keeper I know who's worse than Almunia to keep Madrid at bay. And boy, he was extra **** tonight.

I'm actually numb and taken aback by Karius display. Cannot believe he single handedly gave Madrid the trophy on a plate. Just wow for a keeper to make such mistakes on the biggest club football trophy. Amateur hour for sure.

If you take out those silly goals, the game could have gone into extra time and even penalties. Apart from Bale's goal, Madrid did not outplay us and not that many goal scoring opportunities.

You could see Henderson in an interview totally in tears am very emotional and still keep composure by not blaming Karius publicly.

I just hope we spend big on a world class goalkeeper and not Butland. It's Allison or Oblak for me. If we have to spend £70m then we have to.

Got up numb this morning as well. Biggest trophy in 13 years got away from us. Pissed it was Madrid as winners, would have preferred most other options. Successful team but not great, they are gonna be remembered and romantacized.

If we had Messi in the team and the money was there for an upgrade then yeah spend it. We gonna have to spend 20M+ more than what the replacement is worth or other teams would be asked. If we cannot afford anyone better than Karius so be it.

Hart got moved on from City and he has not proven himself, only strengthened the case against him.

I mean if we're following that logic, then VVD is the reason LFC lost.

meh!

That was an example of Ramos' sh.thousery is all.

I can give you plenty more in the game and in other games but it's obvious to anyone who cares to google / youtube and see why he has the highest amount of cards in CL history.

Reason we lost was Madrid simply had too much quality on the field and bench once Ramos removed Salah - more than held our own until then.

We did fantastically to get to the final and then key injuries (eg Oxlade Chamberlain) contrived to leave us extremely thin for the final.

We can be proud of the fact that Real Madrid didn't overrun us by any means, and in fact needed

a. an injury to our star player
b. a worldly goal from Bale, and
c. 2 bad mistakes from our rookie keeper

to beat us.

I'm looking forward to us doing even better next season while enjoying the football.
