Load-shedding justifies state of emergency — UJ Prof

The electricity crisis in South Africa could threaten national security, and University of Johannesburg senior research fellow Oscar van Heerden believes President Cyril Ramaphosa should declare a state of emergency.

In an interview with eNCA, Van Heerden said more South African National Defense Force (SANDF) troops should be deployed at Eskom power stations across the country.

It is difficult to fathom that there are still 'experts' who think that the SA government can be trusted to act in the best interest of the country. Have they not learned from previous experience how the state of disaster was abused by the doektator and her ilk?

Can't we get the SANDF to deploy to parliament and take the occupants to more suitable accomodations, like Robben Island. The SANDF should stay there with them to ensure they are suitably comfortable.

Honestly SADF guys being put at power stations sounds awesome. Tell them to just shoot on sight anybody that is carrying a tool, a clipboard, a briefcase, anything. Eskom is overstaffed anyway and this seems like a great way to cull the herd.

That's a lekker vet array....topping over 3kWh in this k*k weather is commendable.

I had to refer to the "experts" on my system about two weeks ago to change my panels to higher voltage ones so the MPPT controller would be happier... and by golly! Just doing that doubled my solar generation. It's almost like you're on your own and money can't solve everything, but what do I know?!?

You sir, have just been serenaded with my cheapskate Grant's Blended Whisky.

I will strive to be more like you instead of wasting my time reading this oink-oink self-flagellating wishful horsesh*t.
