Just look at her, if she had spend the money she spends on her hair and makeup I am sure she could have bought a UPS.

Or lingerie, if you scroll a few pages back...
No one wants to chew the glass. We all just want to hate on those who have chewed on some glass to get somewhere in life. (aka she's saying it's because of someone else, no responsibility taken)

An honest days hard work is too much for 99% of people.

* Just in case, no I don't think shes quite chewed the glass.

My wife has a friend who also teaches English to foreigners from her garage at Jeffrey’s Bay. She realised several years ago that load shedding would undoubtedly get worse and eventually saved enough to get a small generator to keep her equipment going

If she can do this, anyone can. It’s not as if it was sprung on her without warning.

This lady has 22 private pupils and has not lost any

Get better UPS.

Mine lasts 6 hours

Too be fair though, I never knew these existed until 6 months ago.
What makes you think she doesn't have a small ups! It is most likely internet related.

Some LTE towers drop power immediately, others after 30min to 2 hours. You can have a million rand solar offgrid system in place, if the LTE tower dies your 1bar system won't miraculously provide you with internet.

The whole town gets loadshedded. The closest is Welkom, which is about 20km away.
Sure plenty taxi's running between the two, maybe even a gravamen bus or two with probably the majority of the town working in Welkom or on the mines

If you have an online business, you need to plan better. Generator. Petrol. Fibre. If you do not have that in your town and cannot afford it, find a job. You are not really cut out to run a business.

But, bottom line, thank the ANC and thank Eskom.
That's unfair.
The rot started in the 1990s when the then Eskom management requested permission to build new power stations in anticipation of increased demand. Permission was refused in favour of the arms deal which offered immediate cash returns to the ANC. Permission was finally given only when all the corruption enabling mechanisms were in place and, by then, it was far too late.
Medupi & Kusile were the result but, as intended, they generated a whole load of cash for the comrades but very little electricity.

Even with a UPS or Battery bank, internet dies after 2hrs and LTE goes 30min into load shedding.

Internet has never died throughout the entire load shedding this year and last.

How do you think business keep operating if the internet died during load shedding?

She does have legs no?

Get up and go to the nearest place with power and Internet if not using your own mobile data.

I see many people doing this everyday, head to coffee shops or malls during loadshedding

Or go to the nearest friend with power and work from there

Kak verskonings die mens.
What an utter KAK post. Not every environment is ideal for what you do, especially if you constantly interact with others. Jesus.
