They toyed with group 5 last night, 20:00 came and went and the power was still on :)

... 20:20 and the lights went out :(

I had my torch in hand ready to go outside and crank up the generator and nothing… until I sat down to watch something on Netflix.

We need more electricity generation... this load shedding is buggering up my appliances.

My router isn't liking this

I understood that it's when the power cames back on that the surge has the potential to damage equipment. What I do, once the power goes off, is drop all breakers on my db board other than the one's for the lights. When the lights come back on, the power is back on and I can raise all the breakers but in that way protect equipment from the power surge.

bwana, I have the triple whammy time slots today...

06h00 - 08h30
12h00 - 14h30
20h00 - 22h00

Do you get a prize? Other than a cold shower and rotten food?

Bet you it will go to Stage 3 again at 16:00.

Most likely!! If anyone was looking for a clear indication that things are getting worse, not better, then that is it...

And still we have a Medupi work force on strike!! If anyone was looking for a clear indication that the unions could care less about anything other than their bottom line, then that is it!!

Country is now being fast tracked on the road to junk status! Sad! We fast becoming just another failed African state! At the risk of being labelled a raging racist, Africans are simply incapable of good governance!!

When was the last time an African state was on the 'Top 50 most prosperous nations in the world' list?

Same here.

tsek djy! :p. Was teasing him as he was scheduled for the triple yesterday. I has gas... Am getting quotes for a gas freezer but it is not essential. Have acquired quite a few solar and rechargeable LED lights, so I'm pretty sorted. Streaming sport on mobile data is a tad expensive so I only do that extremely selectively. Advantage is that I've started reading quite a lot again...

very sad. I feel for small business owners. Easy to say, convert to gas or buy generators but these are all additional overheads that many cannot afford.

Only time it EVER effects me is stage 3.

Last night at 20:00 the power goes poof!

No idea it's stage 3 so just assumed it's load shedding. 21:00 the power came on again - Was however suppose to be off till 22:00.

That being said, I'm off tomorrow to go watch the laaitjie's rugby match. So tomorrow Load shedding will hit me bad as I'll be home :crying:

Can you advise what is the bestway to prepare your anus for the coming Winter? I want mine to last 2 weeks at least. Sigh. Never mind (sips wine)

That would be the best way. It relaxes the muscles, making it hurt less. When you are wasted, you don't care about having stupid essentials like lights or a kettle or a fridge.

Fine, fire em all... more than enough unemployed people looking for jobs, especially a steady multi year job with free meals

Hell, if they spent a few seconds thinking about it, they'd realise if the worked hard and proved themselves, they'd have guaranteed employment for decades, finish one, move on to next etc

Plumstead is out for the count. Does anyone know if Claremont is on still? Might as well hit the gym...

My over-10-years-old fluorescent tube emergency lights (which have new 6v 4.5ah batteries) cant recover by the time Stage 3 hits for a second time. I guess I will have to spend on the LED Ultratec lights...

Called it
