Meaning to ask. Why does PE have x.5 hour increments? Other places have 2 hours or 4 hours straight.

So they won't do more frequent stage 1 cuts to allow for maintenance and power recuperation, because it loses them money, but then this happens, everything explodes and we have days of stage 2+ shedding which overall probably costs them a lot more.

Sorry, shouldn't try using logic to reason in these situations.

No idea - we also have a schedule for Stage 4. The extra half hour is probably to give the guy in the bakkie some time to get from switch to switch…

Only got myself to blame - I convinced myself moving to SA was a good idea at the time. Should have headed to Arizona instead.

... partial = excludes suburbs where individuals that wield political power reside

Last time Eskom implemented a partial stage 3, Cape Town remained on stage 2.

I assume Cape Town's electricity savings on stage 2 was enough to appease Eskom.
