Hi All!

With Eskoms loadsheding I was wondering if it is possible to power the Technicolor TG589vn V3 Router via a 9V battery.:wtf:
Must admit I don't know much about power hack jobs but Im sure I can get the parts needed at communica ect.

The technical specifications read that the power Voltage 100-240 VAC (switched mode power supply) found here https://www.zen.co.uk/userfiles/documents/shared/broadband/hardware/technicolor-tg589n.pdf

I'll have to check whats written on the plug connector itself when I get home but thought this would be a cool way to get through the hours in the dark.
Can anyone advise as to if this would be possible and possibly a quick guide on how to do so?

First you need to find out whether it would be worth the effort because sometimes the DSLAM goes down as well...

I hear the exchange goes down after 15 mins anyway so no point
Hence why I said he first needs to make sure. In my case the exchange I'm connected to is on the other side of a highway which falls in a different loadshedding zone

Here's a good one. The DSLAM serving this area is fine during load shedding but goes down 5 to 10 mins when load shedding ends. It took Telkom over an hour to get it up again. (That was after-hours). Yesterday it came back up in 10 mins. They must have had a technician waiting for the problem to occur.
