Serious question here, are they going to be able to " eventually fix it " ? or are we going to be like this for a few more weeks ?

I understand it'll never go away, but how long will it be for the current loadshit ?

I can take the load shedding - but setting all the clocks right really pisses me off BIG time !!!!!
And it's not like you can put it onto a UPS either, because the things that need setting are usually things like microwave ovens, stoves and so on.

Take solace in the fact that if the power is out, at least it's not able to blink 12:00 at you:cool:

I'm not sure where you've been the past 15 years or so, but things are going to get worse, much much worse, son!

South Africa is done for!

We had a sub-station blown in my town, so we had no electricity from last week Thursday until 21:30 last night, and now this ****. I want to personally bliksem every municipal member at our municipality. They had the right guy to fix it, but the ANC members said no they want to get someone themselves so yah, 4 days of no electricity. I have a deep hate for the ANC.

Given the last few years it seems that this LS stuff comes out when it gets hot, because people use aircons... apparently them aircons are so power hungry that LS is required... To be realistic... you will see some relief around 16 December... and then 2nd week in January Stage 4 or higher... and that will carry on until whenever it cools down...

But the LS is coming sooner every year... the unplanned outage figure just gets bigger and Eskom thinks people don't notice- they've made zero progress since 2018.

It is NOT going to get better. This is Africa, the honeymoon we've enjoyed is over. We now have to adapt and live like people who live in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Angola who have loadshedding every day regardless

You're very forgiving. My prayers for the ANC go something like:

That’s a pretty negative attitude.

I have one of these as well, with 6 cans of gas that’ll get me through many months of loadshedding.

This looks good. We have the cadac burner one that fits directly on the gas cylinder but that is not really portable. Is this the one shown in video? At least close to this model ?

I'm supposed to be shedding right now, but it looks like Kronk forgot to pull the lever :D.
