It is NOT going to get better.

I can't practice cleaning some rich first world person's toilet in the dark ! :)

I'm supposed to be shedding right now, but it looks like Kronk forgot to pull the lever :D.

I had that week before last. I felt so privileged.

But then loadshedding was suspended and they gave us that slot afterwards. Moral of the story is that Kronk is a vindictive p**s.

This looks good. We have the cadac burner one that fits directly on the gas cylinder but that is not really portable. Is this the one shown in video? At least close to this model ?

Yep. Same gas bottles. They are occasionally on special at R100 for 4.
Also have a frying pan and a kettle just for that burner.

It also goes with us on holidays along with the magneto lamps.

Refinery in CT generate their own power FYI. They showed us on a tour in 2019

Well hope fully the manufacturing plant has its own generation as well, you still need an empty bottle to put the gas into.

That’s a pretty negative attitude.

I have one of these as well, with 6 cans of gas that’ll get me through many months of loadshedding.

It's realistic, people think that they are perfectly insulated from a collapsed eskom if they get solar. Like water magically comes out the taps, no consideration for water treatment plants and dams requiring electricity to pump water into the pipes.

Do you curl up into a little ball and cry yourself to sleep every time there is loadshedding?

Viva ANC, Viva.

Amandla!

Awethu!

Viva ANC VIVA!!!

The second line does not apply, eskom is load shedding.

Nope, my solar panels/batteries keeps the electricity flowing, and powers the borehole pump to feed water into the house.

Those work really well. They have a 2 burner one as well but the plates are too close together so better to take two singles.

There's a whole lot of loadshedding but what I'd love to know is what is being done to fix it.

Anyone? And don't tell me they built two new powerplants. Kusile and Medupi are are corruption factories that haven't produced anything of value.

They're doing repairs, but they also have to deal with all the corruption associated. People are benefiting from loadshedding and would prefer to keep it that way. The reality though is that the coal fired plants are way past their sellby dates and are likely to breakdown even more so expect load shedding to get worse and worse. The capacity they are building is way insufficient of what's needed.

So in other words, they're trying to put a bandaid over a bullet wound, and not even bothering to get it checked.

Got it.

By the way, where's all the #I'mStaying peeps? How's things working out for you?
