Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have MW 256 and international downloads stay on around 8Kb/safter the 500Kb/s burst at full speeds.

(which we are all "used" to by now)

I use rmDC or DC++ to do local downloads which was working fine for about 2 months now at full speeds coz its local bandwidth....

In the past week or so my LOCAL speeds have dropped to about 5KB/s....

anyone having the same thing?

Shot.

If my provider did that I would drop them instantly.

On the 128K package, Im getting as follows:-
Local: 14.5kB/s
International: 6.5kB/s (after 500k)

vowthorn, I was getting 4.7kB/s until this past Friday, but then it shot up to 9kB/s.
On Saturday it was down to 6.5kB/s where it has settled.
I know that ProAsm did install a direct feed for Durban, and maybe that is the reason???
I will try and get some clarity on this.

Edit/ Confirmed: DBN 6.5kB/s and JHB 4.7kB/s - No one knows why though.
(But with all my questioning, they will probably drop it down again :( )

Also... I've established that the above International limit is based on
a period of time (20 seconds to be exact), and not when you reach 500k.

Odd to see what some complaining to the right people can do

256 Package

International test (http://performance.toast.net)
Loaded 1,396,595 bytes in 53.157 seconds from 1&1 server.
Your throughput: 210* K

Sentech Speed Test 512K
Your download speed is: 26.82 KBps, or 214.55 Kbps
The test took 19.949 seconds to complete

Sentech Speed Test 2MB
Your download speed is: 26.79 KBps, or 214.28 Kbps
The test took 78.102 seconds to complete

It also seems that the international 500K throttle has now been increased to 1.6MB

mine went up, then down again, then back to normal, then down again then it was perfect again for 2 days.... and now its completely disconnected.

I'm out of the country currently, so i can't see whats causing the disconnection this time round, but I have a linux server thats been running for almost a year now that keeps my connection up with a script that runs every minute and also updates DynDNS.

I literally NEVER have disconnections that doesn't reconnect automatically.
Except if sentech screws something up.
Guess i'll have to wait and see if the connection comes back up.

...and now i cant VNC into my PC anymore :(
