I'm looking for local only connection at ADSL pricing. Basically I want ADSL without the international portion. Seeing as I don't have international then my connection should go up to 1Mbit for the same price. If local is lekker them why does telkom make it so difficult to get fast local access?

originaly only international was capped and this worked fine for VPN and the like then some ****er got smart and changed the product spec ... most ISP's will give some sort of cheap local only but telkom costs are higer ... diginet/martis the cheapest link is analogue leased line [at 33.6kbs] you might be able to do what you need on a capped link depending as capping still allows a fair bit of local ...

Maybe you could phone uunet and ask them if you can put a dish on top of their building, and hook it up to their backbone, thus cutting out Telkom. Sure it isn't stricly legal, but if wisp's such as Uninet, etc. can have hundreds of clients hooked up in the same way, then i doubt much attention will be drawn to your one little dish...

Of course this depends on how far away from their office you are, and if are willing to let you do it.
