The only way I think that we can do anything about Ivy is to get a HUGE petition. I think we can start a website similar to http://www.sackmanto.co.za we might be able to do something.

But I can tell you all one thing, getting aggro on this forum aint gonna solve a thing with out further action.

If not, does anyone know of a good sniper?

If you find one, get a hold of me. I'll help the fund the cause. :p

I think by now it should be painfully clear to anyone that compitence is not a job requirement for the boys and girls in the golden circle. There has been numarous cases of misconduct, incompetence, fraud, the list goes on. How many of the people found guilty in a courst of law in the Travel Gate thing are still in their cushy jobs? This is where the warning bells started to go off, prooving that as long as you are in the right circle, you can do whatever it takes to enrich yourself, as long as you spread some of it around to the right people.

Ivy is no exception in my opinion, she was given a job which she is totally incompetent to do. Proof is abundant, there can be no dispute about this anymore, however the gravy train needs to steam ahead before the tracks fall into disrepair. Why maintain and upgrade the tracks if the train is running?

Competence is only an issue if you're actually trying to do your job. Ivy is not trying to bring down telecoms costs, she is ensuring that government maintains control of the industry.
You've got to wonder why. I can think of a few potential reasons.
1. Individuals in government are some how enriching themselves from the profits of Telkom.
2. Government has no intention of allowing the masses access to an uncontrollable source of information. This one is a bit paranoid, but access to information should at the top of the list for anyone interested in upliftment.

So let's also ban any airlines which don't have SA ownership from landing at our airports.

This country is so fukked up! Imagine if Brazil insisted on majority Brazilian or South American ownership of the InfraCo cable and London insisted on majority British or European ownership of the InfraCo Cable. The cable wouldn't be owned by the SA government at all. Then all their profits will go to foreign investors. What are these people thinking. Oh sorry I forgot, they don't think! They must have some pretty good weed in the department of communications. Or is that the the department of corruptions.

Stupid biatch!!! :confused::confused::mad::mad::(:mad:

The minister is also unconcerned that foreign consortiums funding the cables may not want to sell a majority stake to South Africans.

I guess this all depends on whether we need the cable more than the cable owners need new markets. Our beloved government clearly believes that that the cable consortia need the market more than SA needs the cable.

I don't care who adds bandwidth to SA so long as someone actually does it.

The SA fascination with non-producing legal entities trading with and investing in other non-producing legal entities is maddening. Some one at the root of these trading entities must actually produce something that a customer wants to buy. All these trading entites add nothing to the process except 'friction' and waste.

So someone build the cable. Stop talking about it. If its going to funded locally fund it. Minimise the friction.

Mail the DoC

My guess would be that this all gets forwarded to /dev/null but for what it's worth you can drop Lyndall Shope-Mafole (Director General at DoC) a letter of love here

Ivy, like Manto, you're a curse on this country.
I don't think Ivy is bright enough to have come up with this idea all by her lonesome. No. This is obviously the will of the "Collective". The NEC I think are the real ****s behind this.

Obviously the bribes budgeted by Seacom&Co were not big enough. If the bribes are big enough then she will STFU because she is to busy driving her new Merc to her new house in Plett.

Now the extra $$$ have to be engineered into the deal afterwards using a Local Ownership/BEE/Consortium.

What isn't clear to me is whether this applies to the landing portion in SA and SA waters only or whether it applies to the whole project?
