the local torrent site isn't really ideal, it only allows for 400 registered users, and you have to be in an irc chat channel the whole time to stay "active",plus, on all the torrents on that site, most of them have only 1 seeder, some 0, I have seen a whopping 5 seeds on one mp3 file once...
so no... the best torrent site i've ever been to is torrentbits.org and although its international, its still much better than the local crap we have.....

I would have to agree with noone. But if you look on the bright side atleast there is one. Its better then none. Hopefully it would be able to grow with out any legal battles.
And another excellent torrent site is www.suprnova.org They have got just about everything and I never really had problems with till sentech bombed out.

ah great ... noone ... you will notice your account has been deleted on the local site . no one's forcing you to use the service. there has to always be one seed in the beginning before the others can grab it. a system of staying on irc and ratio's is there to monitor the use and abuse of the site. i haven't seen you try to do anything urself noone. so get off your high horse and leech torrentbits, filelist, suprnova(ghei), downloadfaster,oink,elitetorrents or any other international site. keep in mind that capped adsl runs sentech into the ground locally, making it ideal for adsl users.

Well, I've been on the other side of the law re: software before you (bsf and ri0t) before you even got your measly internet line, guys like wnbc and other older members like Revix will remember way back when when I used to serve via mIRC with my 33.6k modem selflessly. And if you know your modem, you'll realise that a normal modem's downstream is dependant on it's upstream, meaning that the more I send, the less I can download. My usual nickname is AcidRaZor. (if you want to check with them)

Saying what one thinks in an open public forum never means that you're attacking a site. It's like saying movie reviewers are flaming movies when they give them bad reviews *cough* King Arthur *cough* (that movie sucked)
And FYI, by saying something sucks, for instance the movie, does not mean I declare all out forum flame wars.... its because of people like you that I left the local scene and I'm pretty much happy being on my own out there without "leeching" off of assholes like you, not that you seeded anything anyway according to your site.
I just think letting 400 people on a site that has the potential to be great locally, is kind of shooting yourself in the foot, the more people who help's the seeders seed (by keeping those torrents open) the better, and unfortunatly, 400 is WAY too little...

I'll jump in, not knowing the reason for revix and the boys limiting to 400, what I do know, is that a torrent tracker can be quite a big resource leech, so to perhaps pacify the situation somewhat, that might be their reasoning, and obviously they would like those 400 users to be the best sharers around, what better way to get one to share, than to instill the fear of login rights.
by the way, I do remember an acidrazor from my IRC days (97-99).

Thats me alright, we all know that Sentech's upstream bandwidth is around 128k, I'm a 512k user. Do the math.
I seriously don't know what your damage is, this thread was long gone until you and your friend tried slamming me for an opinion I gave.
Given dorris' possible reasons, I do infact understand why it is limited to 400, however, on visiting the site the first thing I did was look through the FAQ to try and find a reason why it's limited to 400.
Plus, re-iterating my point, I don't see why it is nessacary to be active on IRC to be active on the site. Seeing as it's a clone from torrentbits (I see it's a trend these days, probably some free template website) I don't know why you even are required to be in a channel just to be a part of a group with limited users, limited things to share, and limited seeders.
The day I joined I only joined to see statistics. And the obvious seeders were infact those mentioned in my previous post. But what was suprising is, of 400 users, only several were online (less than 10) that was seeding.

ROFL ... this is childish. my point is merely that the site admin will obviously take offence to sum1 calling their hard work "local crap" as stated by noone. i respect the fact that noone is a valuable member of this site where i might not be. i personally dont think a better job coulve been done for a local tracker than what is currently available.
if anyone took offence by my previous statement, dont. it wasnt intended to offend, simply to add an emotive opinion.
i think we put our differences aside, since the tracker is most beneficial to capped adsl users, and not to sentech users

Well, obviously I didn't take offence, however, your reference to this being childish is very correct indeed. Unfortunatly, you and your buddy were the ones fueling the flames of my, what seemed to me, innocent truthful comment.
If you wish to be in the public eye, you need to take the good with the bad. Getting offended with someone calling your work crap, getting pissy about it and then going off at a tangent, quitting whatever you started, says alot about you as a leader.
Thus, if the creator does not take this comment as a signal to try and improve on this site, or decides to ignore my comment, it's his choice. However, if he do decide to join in this and try and start a flame war, he is as childish as the users in his community.....

Its weird how people cant have oppinions. The local torrent site mentioned is **** compared to suprnova. maybe its new... maybe its still growing... whatever the reasons if someone thinks it is **** dont cast the fireballs...

I support Noone in this for three reasons:
1 - I am bored
2 - I could get Big Boobs v2 and v4 for free
3 - If you gonna create or use something get used to critisicm... good or bad cuz if you use it and listen to it wisely you could improve on that service.
