Location of the cable to the house

Wasn't at home when they came to install. Hear that they just took the cable from outside the house diagonally right across the garden up high, straight to the roof. So a cable stretched across the garden.
Doesn't sound very aesthetic, and I would have expected a choice of it buried or along walls or something..not right across my garden.
Am I just being difficult, or is this something I should be taking up with Vumatel?
Can't say I am enthused by a new perch for the pigeons and hadedas, and one of the tall trees around losing a decent branch will take down the cable. What are their obligations when installing?

They are meant to consult with you. Call them and request that they move it.

With Vumatel, the standard install fee includes upto 7 meters of trenching and then the cable should b attached to walls etc. On my install, they trenched to the nearest wall and then ran the cable with other cables going into the house. But you have to be there to tell them what to do.

With Openserve they allocate 35 metres of cable from the last point (pole or manhole) to the termination point in your house.

Conduit from the splitter on top of the pole, into the ground, up my house wall and into the ceiling. No conduit in ceiling.

My house got modified since ADSL was installed, the copper takes a ~15m detour, goes up at a near 90 degree angle at one point, then a ~75 degree angle and heads back towards the street for 2 meters, would be better if new conduit up the wall ~5 meters, through roof about 5m, then about a meter and a half down. Otherwise it has to go through a lot of concrete.

I am betting they're going to make us pay install costs. :D
