My progress as follows:

Last week Friday I decided it was time to try P/Smurf's recipe. So I made a fermenter out of a 10kg HTH bucket with homemade airlock (ala the lockdown lager video).

So I haven't opened it up for about 3 days now since I saw PS saying that you shouldn't but it smells like its still fermenting.

I used light brown sugar, cut the pineapples up into smallish chunks and used 10g of brewer's yeast.

Finally a use for this massive stock pot I bought years ago:

No algae in that brew.

yeah but its might be the chlorine not the yeast bubbling :)

So that bucket has been standing empty in a cupboard, unused since its original purpose, for about 5 years. It had absolutely no chlorine smell in it whatsoever. I gave it a good wash with a strong sunlight liquid solution and it was fine.

I also noticed something else, current HTH buckets are now 8kg and not 10kg. ****ing shrinkflation thieves.

Opened it up a few minutes ago. Still bubbling away with big yeast bubbles. I tired it and compared to about three days ago, it's sweetness is almost gone and tasting a bit bitter.
