Is the water better boiled or unboiled? I mean for the pineapple and cider recipes?

I saw someone said they went 50/50 boiled/unboiled.

then you add that to your cold water and wait until temperature is just right before adding the yeast

no there is no need to otherwise you have to wait until Tuesday before the temperature drops to 30 degrees to add the yeast

Truth.... I'll do half, I think.

About to attempt my first pineapple batch.

I am curious about the white vs brown sugar. There seems to be quite a difference in taste. Those yeasties must have a general preference.

I boil as much as will fit in my biggest pot with the pineapple and sugar and the rest in my kettle. Add it all to the bucket and put the bucket in a sink of cold water, cools fairly quickly.

I do 6l a time, will be a mission using this method for huge batches.

Boiling will get rid of any nasties, my mate had a batch go rotten not boiling, was gross.
