Bought a couple of these 10l beauties from Mambo today.

A little pricy possibly at R69 but perfect for my needs. They also do a larger 20l one.

I'm interested in making this! Seems easier than the pineapple beer.

Got any tips for brewing some forbidden nectar with Rhodes fruit juice?
Rhodes works well as it's preservative free. I use 6l of juice (so far cranberry and apple worked the best) with 125g sugar per litre and 5g of yeast.

Thanks - it seemed ok but I'll check to see if the airlock is doing it's thing in the morning.

I know I am very late to the party here and that i am also not a veteran drinker like some of you here.

Had my first batch of pineapple beer using Papa Smurf's multiple posted recipe. Only one cup and wow, was it nice.

Used an extra pineapple and a cup of raisins while having blankets and water bottle on it. Think the extra sugar and heat might have helped. I want to get an alcohol hydrometer at a brewery shop here in PE to get a better idea of the alcohol percentage in my brews.

The wife likes it too (bonus).

I'll head out to them tomorrow and get a bigger container too. Tedious with 5 l bottles.

Ok this one is legal if you dont want to go the distilling route :D

Have a batch brewing waiting to be freeze-distilled.

oky batch 3, 20L water 4x pineapples and 1kg red apples. With 20g yeast, 2kg brown sugar.

Made myself a rule not to open this bugger until day 4 to taste test. Leaving it for 7 days.
@Papa Smurf

This is fkn lekker.

Testing a glass ( 2L bottle kept one side for testing )

No bitter taste, still sweetness to it. It for sure does have some punch to it. Hits the throat! Wife says it actually tastes lekker?! Confused to what i did, compared to the first batch!

I've got a 17L batch in bottles with sugar added to carbonate.

Make sure everything is sterile.
Since the sugar gets used up, add an artificial sweetener if it is too bitter or sour.
Use sunscreen!

Happy to say bottles didn't pop but we're definitely appreciative of the burp this morning
If you reach that point stick them in the fridge to slow down the fermentation. You still need to check up on them.
