It’s Friday
Time to kick back with a 1 liter pear beer on ice and a slice of lemon

Nice taste with a mild kick (the pineapple beer is more potent)

Cheers Lads

EDIT: Halfway through the 1st glass and on a lekker buzz, i would rate this the same alcohol as my pineapple brews, +/-6%

I usually make ~23l at a time. My latest brew a bit less, it came in way under OG, so there's only 21.5l of that. I don't drink to get drunk or for a "buzz" though. It's purely for weekend enjoyment, so my booze lasts a long time. The amount of booze in my house now is enough to last me another 6 months, easily. I love making, and obviously drinking, but for health (and other reasons) I don't drink a lot. 5 or 6 drinks over a weekend, max. Sometimes I go weeks with nothing. It helps to host braais and telling people "beer's on me". Seeing it costs me like R100 to make enough beer to get a whole party going, I really don't mind.

Same here, tend to stick to lower alcohol beer but its nice to have a few stronger ones around. My brewing equipment has been stored for a while with house alterations that took forever but I'm starting up again. I mostly do full grain BIAB 20-30l batches that go into Cornelius kegs.

I did a Tong Tippie Toets of my apple juice. Still needs a day.
Found little funny things floating in it. Was about to turf 20 litres because of these worms.
Closer inspection showed that it was slivers of apple skin from the hand blender. Saved by my spectacles.

I also wanted to purchase 1 of those containers but then ended up buying another kind.

Google BIAB and watch a few videos. Its a nice way to do all grain brewing without going half a garage worth of equipment.

oh, i also have a 50l stainless steel beer keg as well, but no attachments
Would love a keg like that. Even if not for filling (fitting issues), it's really nice to make a still with, make a boiling vessel, etc. etc. If you don't want to use it, lemme know, I'll take it off your hands!

I haven't really posted recipes. I kinda make it up as I go along.

If your tub has an element in it, you can do EVERYTHING in it. Mash, boil, ferment, etc. etc. I have a friend who does that.

I'm busy with a cranberry juice one... :X3:

Did you just use juice or was there water added? I was thinking of adding water to get a bigger volume and possibly reduce the sweetness, I'm not a fan of sweet drinks.

Adding water will just dilute the flavour and alcohol content, not make it less sweet.

I added 1 liter juice, 2 liters of water (with lots of sugar and tea). Then cooled it and added a bit of yeast.

Let's see what happens. :p
