Stop teazing me

I would do very small holes. Where I am, there are a lot of insects around that like to crawl into sweet stuff. A cloth for me works fine.Regarding the cloth cover. How about drilling two small holes in the lid to allow for escaping air?
for pineapple beer just use a cloth thats sufficient when we make proper brews again we can get this its literally to keep the bugs out no need to get fancy nowAny thoughts on how well these would work? Seems so much simpler and easier than making proper airlocks fit on a bottle.

for my pineapple beers all i do is not screw the cap on all the way, so that the brew can 'burp'Any thoughts on how well these would work? Seems so much simpler and easier than making proper airlocks fit on a bottle.
