Hey guys had my first beer yesterday surprisingly good. At the bottom of each bottle there seems to be sediment do you leave this or shake the bottle before drinking ?

definitely leave it if you can, rinse the bottle out straight away imo so you don't have to clean it like a mofo later

OMW it's taking forever to drop to about 24'C so that I can add the yeast

What I normally do is not put all the water into the mix (about 2L), and put that in the freezer. Once the temp drops below 40°C, add the cold water. (Just have to watch out for the water freezing solid.)

You can also try adding a few ice blocks, but that will dilute your brew.

There is nothing worse than trying to get that gunk out of a PET bottle if it has solidified.

Citric acid is a weak organic acid that has the chemical formula C
6H
8O
7. It occurs naturally in citrus fruits. In biochemistry, it is an intermediate in the citric acid cycle, which occurs in the metabolism of all aerobic organisms.

More than two million tons of citric acid are manufactured every year. It is used widely as an acidifier, as a flavoring and a chelating agent.[9]

A citrate is a derivative of citric acid; that is, the salts, esters, and the polyatomic anion found in solution. An example of the former, a salt is trisodium citrate; an ester is triethyl citrate. When part of a salt, the formula of the citrate anion is written as C
6H
5O3−
7 or C
3H
5O(COO)3−
3.
