no just that water to hydrate the yeast remember the juice versions have most the sugar in the actual juice
If you're going to "hydrate the yeast" add a little bit of sugar and make sure the yeast is still good or better still get it going using a little bit of the juice.

Spring / still water vs tap water.

Tap water OK to use? Read that the fluoride in tap water can prevent yeast from fermenting

As long as you're boiling it you'll be fine.
Sure. I don't see why not. It's bleach, right?
im confused you should use milton to sterilise but not rinse afterwards (as per instructions)? is my whole batch a mess now?

So to be clear I rinsed all equipment including fermenting bottles with a milton dilution, I made sure all liquid was out then added the juice yeast etc is this batch messed now?

Who said not to rinse it?

I spray a weak bleach solution into the bottle when I've emptied and rinsed it. Then when it's time to bottle again I give it a quick rinse.

i have been brewing Coopers beer since 2000 using tap water only
2 litres boiling water with 1kg sugar and stir until sugar has 'melted'
add my 1.5kg Coopers molasses
stir for 2 minutes
add 19 litres tap water

check brew temperature is around 24 - 29 degrees celcius then
add yeast and close it up for 7 - 10 days and then bottle
