check if your yeast is ok, mine is only a little sugar yeast and juice following steamy toms receipe

How will I know if the yeast is fine ? I also only used the juice and a few tablespoons of sugar and the yeast. I presume if the yeast didn't activate properly then I cannot add new ones now ?

What will happen if your fermentation bucket isnt air tight? I've seen pictures of guys making brews in cooler boxes and open buckets.

So I want to try this obviously, should I fit a one way vent valve to the bucket lid? So fermentation gasses out but no fresh air in? Would that work?

if you have one or can make one then definitely do it, but if you don't you could get away with it most often provided you steralise everything properly.

I'm 95% certain that yeast is dead. A by-product of large-scale fermentation.

A friend bought some, I suggested he put some in a sugar/water mix and see if it activates.

Seeing as human yeast supplements are dead I imagine horse supplements are too
