Hey guys, I've had the Logitech Z623 speakers for around 3-4 months now and they have been the absolute best set of speakers I have ever had in my life, they have truly served me well.

Now something else has caught my eye, the Corsair SP2500 2.1 speakers. Now I'm not sure if I want to upgrade, or if it would really be an upgrade at all. The Logitech's are 200W RMS and THX-certified and the Corsair's are 220W RMS. The Corsair's come with an external control panel with a screen to adjust volume and bass.

What are your thoughts? An upgrade or not?

No experience with corsair but there products are generally decent, with regards to pc speaker i know logitech is king not saying the corsair's are not but 20w RMS is not a big deal in my books.

edit: I definately prefer the corsair satelites, more traditional look but like i said dont think its much of a upgraid, can you use the logitech's elsewhere? otherwise you just burning cash imo.

I remember now why I hate looking at speakers, the reviews all suck and half the manufacturers dont list the proper specs...
Anyway,
The Corsairs have speakers that seem to be better since they have a main speaker, and a tweeter. This should give better sound quality than the Logitechs. Other than that, they are practically the same. 200W vs 220W is not going to make any noticeable difference in terms of max volume so if thats the reason I wouldnt bother

Don't bother. Save for proper sound, not pseudo high quality PC junk. Easiest way to achieve this is a good quality headset such as the Sennheiser HD555 or PC-350 / PC-360 headset with mic. And sound card, perhaps with amplification depending on the Ohmage of the 'phones. Asus Xense bundle with PC-350's and Xense sound card is crazy good value.

Just saying. I have Logitech Z2300 myself ' (and HD595 and HD650 :)) - the superior predecessor to yours. Enjoy them, but they are by no means good quality sound. Harsh highs and far too much emphasis on bass.

The Logitech sound - because bass sells.
