Hey Guys,

I need some help quickly please with Windows Server 2008 Login scripts.

We have to two sites, Johannesburg & Cape Town, running login script its own login scripts. Cape Town login scripts mapping network drives pertaining to Cape own and JHB login scripts mapping network drives pertaining to JHB. HOWEVER the sames drives letters gets mapped F:, I: and T: for both sites.

Here is where it gets interesting... THere are a few Cape Town people who logs on to Terminal Server that needs to JHB I-Drive mapping ONLY WHEN THEY LOGON on the Terminal Server. When they logon to the Cape Town machine, the normal Cape Town Login scrips still runs as normal.

I know one can make the login script a bit more intellegent with IF and ELSE and whatnot statement, but I need help though.

It should read something along the lines of:

IF machinename = (terminal server name) then map I: \\(JHB SERVER NAME)\SHARENAME\
ELSE map I: to (NORNAL CAPE TOWN SHARE)

Hope this makes sense to some of you :p

You don't need to use logon scripts to map network drives in server 2008. Use Group policy preferences for your users at cpt site to map to theirs, jhb to theirs.

When the CT guys logon to the terminal server that "I" drive must map locally or within the terminal session? The terminal session you speak of is the JHB or CT server....I'm assuming JHB....?

Are they already logged in to the CT server when they do the terminal session (ie you want to replace their existing I-drive mapping with a JHB server one)?

Hmm - does it *have* to be "I" drive letter?

It has to be I-Drive yes, there are mappings in the accounting package SYSPro that referes to templates sitting in I-Drive on JHB servers. The mappings cannot be a UNC path unfortunatly, otherwise I would not have had any issues. Hence the I-Drive mapping.

CT user ONLY need to have the JHB I-Drive mapping when they log onto TS. When they logon on the their usual desktops, the normal Cape Town login scrips runs mapping the I-Drive the the CT servers.

I'm still not with you exactly, but i would say change the taget in syspro to \\machinename\share would be the easyiest ????

The syspro client uses only a ip address (and reserved port number if the server is not on the local LAN).

Why are you useing a terminal session at all ?

If you need to map a drive for TS sessions only, then you can specify a different logon script in the users AD profile, under TS > Environment, (not sure out of my head), you can set a home drive and logon script that will only run when a user logs onto a TS machine...
