:confused:The friend is running Win 7 on a laptop and everything was fine until he had some sort of problem with getting on Telkom 2 meg uncapped.
TelkomZA fix has enabled this now but leaves his Wifi open and unsecured as per his response to my plea for help.
This is the message I got from TelkomZA in response to seeking assistance for a friend in Benoni.
"Had to turn security off for the apple products to work.He is now connected on the IPAD.
For some reason the Apple software does not handshake with the security setting on some routers."

Can anyone on the forum suggest what might be the problem. All input is much appreciated.

Telling us the make & model of the router as well as the firmware version might help.

The WiFi security might have been be set to WPA2/AES instead of WPA/TKIP, which the iPad can only use.

Router is D-Link Model DSL-275OU.
Telkom have now resolved his problem, he doesn't know how but his wifi is now secure and iPad works with it.
Thanks to all who responded.
