Congrats. Great skills list, get that Python experience and you’ll have people knocking at your door offering you jobs in a year. Enjoyable work too.

I'm happy for you. It's really hard to get another job these days unless you know someone or have a lot of experience. I couldn't find a job for six months, during which I kept trying but rarely got called back.

Then I realized the problem was my CV, so I hired a resume writing service, and shortly after, I started getting interviews. Finding a good one wasn't easy, so for those who're still looking for a job, I recommend reading this article.

Who did you use?
I have figured out that these days there are machines (and possibly AI) in the job application mix and this is leading to automated rejections.

I am in a similar predicament, I am holding on, in a job that should never have been in the first place.
It's freaking tough out there man. Companies complain they haven't got people, yet they're full of crap when it comes to the hiring time. Lots of vacancies, but apply once or 10 times, you get rejected.

I noticed a pattern and explored deeper... with one particular company I used LinkedIn and one of those data broker companies to find out who the actual people are, and that's how I managed to speak to the actual HR person at a company I shall not name yet.

I have two rejection letters from that company since I applied last year and earlier this year. Yet HR says they've never seen my CV or heard of me. Needless to say I got a foot in the door by picking up the phone and phoning their HR manager, they took my call

We can't say this is to keep the useless fukkers out, because this is not just a South Africa thing, this is also happening in Europe (since I am trying to find a job anywhere in the world)

What the actual fukk man?
Can't even get a fukking interview... I can't even get that far.

You're getting rejected because you're a job hopper. if you constantly only have 2-year stints that's a major red flag, CVs that come to our company like that don't even get looked at. We invest time and money into our engineers/developers. I have currently been here going on almost 9 years, some of dev's are basically furniture (20 years+)

Easiest way to bypass these machines, make sure you use the words from their job advert somewhere in your application. I've in the past pasted the entire job ad as a last "blank" page on my CV and editted the text to be white, so it can't be seen by humans, but the machines reads it. :)

He didn't mention having a bunch of short stints? Are you assuming or made your own guess?

times are tough out there, what about all these US or UK hours jobs that are out there,
I couldn't hack it starting at 3PM working till 3AM SA time, to correspond with US east coast time,

but I know many people who love things like that. sure plenty are hiring.
cheap 3rd world labour

It's a very well-known fact that Sonic2k is a job hopper, he's openly admitted to his tiny stints because everyone is out to get him, apparently.

I've learned not to disagree with a man whose phallus stretches nearly half of his torso. So I will take you word for it. :)

I didn't know that Mr Gherkin is Sonic though. :
