I'm considering buying a used bakkie. List of requirements:

  • Enough room for me to sit comfortably (I'm 2.00m / 6'8")
  • Single cab
  • Good fuel economy
  • Aircon / electric windows
  • Half ton is enough, 1 ton is ok too
  • About 100000km on the clock, not more than, say, 5 years old
  • Not a high risk make/model (e.g. I'm told that certain Toyota bakkie engines can be dropped straight into a taxi which makes them a prime target for Affirmative shoppers).
Hoping not to spend more than R125,000.

Suggestions on what to shop for, anyone? is it realistic to hope that the above will fit into my budget, or am I being nuts here? :)

Tnx!

Corsa Sport 1.8 if you can find one, even the 1.4 will do, but they are not so nice to drive long distances.

I tried a Corsa. Can't sit comfortably in it. And my size 12 1/2 always grabs two pedals at once! :)

I'm also 2m and size 13 shoe. My moms Nissan NP200 drives quite nicely and you could get a new one in your budget.
I've driven it a few times and for the money, I thought it was brilliant.

Edit: O damn, prices went up a bit. But you'll get a relatively new one for your budget.
