Ya those OVAs were amazing and you really see how tragic poor Kenshin's life is. Another edo anime I can name off the top of my head is Basilisk. I didn't watch it properly, it was decent but I lost interest. The characters are a bit gross looking lol.
I forgot about basilisk! But that was a decent anime too. I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the tip! Watched the first two episodes last night and loving it.

Still loving the anime series?? There's 22 episodes... I loved every bit of it! I have both opening songs on my playlist, and one soundtrack, "God of ink".

I really liked it, but my brother wasn't as convinced. I might try to sneak in a few more episode today. Watched the first episode of Shokugeki's new season last night and now I have to force myself to wait until I have a few episodes i can binge on!

I decided to pickup Fairy Tail, it seems good.

One of my favourite animes. Watched it when I just got into anime. But watch out for burnout - it's LONG. What worked for me was watching it in arcs. Complete an arc and take a break, watch something else, then come back.

Fairy Tail was one the best series I watched, followed by Madoka and Rouroni Kenshin.

I've experienced the burnout with Naruto, I guessed what helped was skipping the fillers. But what I see is Fairy Tale has a low filler ratio

So I was looking for more edo time related sword anime (like in samurai sword fighiting, non fantasy crazy)

I found Blue Exorcist - I give it solid 7/10. It has 25 eps(i dont think it is finished) ( it is fantasy though - but I liked it)

Drifters - 12 eps - 7.5/10 (story not finished there is definitely more coming) I liked the historical figures that are introduced

Hakuouki - Reimei roku - 7.5/10 Very interesting depiction of how the Shisengumi came to be. Not enough sword play in my opinion (also there are 2 other seasons of this, but I didnt know it until now. I am now waiting for the other two, Not sure how this one fits in the story line. It almost feels like a once off story on its own.

Brave 10 - watched 3 eps so far 6.5/10

Gifuu Doudou!! Kanetsugu to Keiji - watched 1 episode 7.5/10 - looks interesting and it builds tension nicely

Shura no Toki - One of my favourites - 9/10

Rk - also one of my favourites - 9/10
