The first movie is meh, but the subsequent series (x2) and the Solid State Society films are very good. I even have a rare release with some intermissions with live action actresses performing their Tachikoma roles.

Did you just say the original ghost in the Shell movie is meh?

You just lost any and all anime credibility.

You probably think Akira is meh as well :p

Yup. Maybe not quite entirely meh but overrated, with the GITS series were superior. The original movie was pretentious and outdated. The GITS SAC series were intriguing and of the thriller variety. I watched the original film on DVD 15 years ago and it was fun but not exceptional. GITS was always rated highly by Westerners. The tie-ins with Japanese history such as the May 15 Incident are really what pique my interest as I am a Japanophile. That's what I find interesting about GITS SAC especially.

I don't see myself as a source of credibility for anyone. I watch what I enjoy. Right now Himouto Umaru Chan is hilarious. Anyone into the hobby scene will really connect.... :) Who hasn't cast votes for rare lottery items? Stayed up late slaying a difficult boss monster? Pretending not to be a fan in front of virtually the whole world while secretly looking out for that rare Region 2 release, drink coffee from a Kuroneko cup? Eating Pocky. Celebrating Azunyan's Birthday.... haha OK not that! :)

You probably think Akira is meh as well :p

Never watched it. For heavier stuff I prefer non-anime, like Krzysztof Kieslowski, who was said to be the best director the world ever saw. For lighter stuff I'll go with stuff like Perfect Blue, Serial Experiments Lain, My Teenage RomCom SNAFU, GoSick, K-ON!, etc.

For the record Serial Experiments Lain and Perfect Blue were far better than GITS, the Movie.

Thankfully you did not mention that most pretentious of 90s anime, EVA. :)

And that other nasty thing.... Puella Madoka Magica.

Guys,

I know this has been asked before, tl;dr, but where is the best place to download batch files(torrents) of complete anime seasons?

Ive watched so much now that there's not much readily availble stuff anymore, really hafto look for it.

Unless im looking in the all the wrong places :)

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

P.S. i do stream generally, but i prefer to download to kill my cap and have some stuff to watch when im without the net.

Bakabt use to be good but now the rules of using a specific torrent client has ruined it for me.
I now get stuff from http://animetorrents.me/.

http://www.nyaa.se/

THE torrent site for Japanese media. Search for "batch" and the anime you want.

If it ain't here it doesn't exist.

The best IMO is Hidan no Aria II. That should have Kugumiya Rie in it, and tsundere Aria. The first season was very good. Is The Order a Rabbit is also very good. As with Aria there is a bluray release of that too, in the West.

Looking good:

Hacka Doll
Subete Ga F ni Naru
Hakone Chan
Ore Ga Ojou
Heavy Object
Tai Madou Gakouen 35 Shinken Soukai
Is the Order a rabbit?
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
Hidan no Aria AA
Lance 'N Masques
Lupin III
