I can confirm that our Asus Wireless container will be here end of the month if there is no hiccups at Customs or the Docks

I can also confirm that the item you looking for will be in that container

It is currently not our on our website , but it will be added in the next few days

Regarding the Asus AC68U, can I connect an ADSL line directly to it, or would I need an ADSL modem inbetween ??

If the Asus C68U needs a modem, what other Asus modem/router (combined item or separate modem to compliment the Asus C68U) can be used which has similar specs to the Asus AC68U //

I used the standard Telkom ADSL modem in front of the above router.

I'm not too jacked up on this stuff but: It has a "pass-thru" feature that allows the equivalent of a bridged connection and external IP assigned to your asus, which then allows u the DDNS and VPN features from ASUS.

You would need another modem that you can put into bridge or half bridge mode so that the Asus router can dial the PPOE connection through the modem.

I suppose any modem will do, I still use a 6 year old Billion modem in bridge mode, then a Asus RT-N66U dials a capped account and a fortigate firewall dials a uncapped account through it.

I really wanted to get this new AC Asus model, but no stock so took the old one, which works great. Flashed it with DDWRT, but then went to a Merlin build, exactly like the stock Asus firmware with a few fixes.

I must say, this is one of the few routers you can actually switch on QOS and it does so what it supposed to. Built in Torrent/NBZ downloader works great, can also limit it, but if QOS is on I can play Battlefield 4 with no issues while line is maxed out by a few torrents, QOS obviously doing it's thing.

I could never get that right on the R30 000 Fortigate firewall I have, go figure lol (Did not buy that fortigate, a spare from work that I play with)

Then the build in DNLA server also works 100%. Plugged in a 3TB drive and can stream to TV, phone, laptop and PC at the same time.
Coping to the drive never goes over 13Mbps, but not a problem really as I download everything straight to it. Maybe the USB 3 port in the new one will solve that... but again, not a big deal for me at least

Interesting to here what you say about QoS and also the Fortigate.. I have a Fortigate and also shaping other users is not working for battlefield, I get much better results when they have all stopped downloading.
Which Fortigate do you have?

Which Fortigate do you have?

Got a 110C at home for testing (wihtout cache disk), and then a 300C at the office, and another 110C at another office.

Gave up on trying with QOS/Traffic Shaping on all of them, it just drops to much packets in the end and then everything stops working.
Might need to go on a refresher course lol
First time I went for training it was on Version 3, when we finally bought then 8 months later I forgot 99% what I learned and it was on Version 4, not much of a difference but they moved so much around I was completely lost lol
