Hi so my cooler master sirus 5.1 has finally had enough lol.

I was looking at the below headphones and was wondering does anyone have experience with them or perhaps can recommend something better for a budget around 2K. Will only be used for gaming on PC :)

Logitech G635 7.1 LIGHTSYNC GAMING HEADSET

Get a pair of sennheisers from wootware. Better sound and none of that 7.1 gimmicky nonsense.

Still close to double his budget :) But I'll take your point, and raise you a pedantic R3.6k. :)
I have never spent souch on a headset, usually in the sub R1k region. But they never last and the sound isn't that great. This time I spent more, but I wanted the open-back design and hopefully better quality.

They are brilliant. I have the same set, mine is running through the GSX-300 as well. Sound is amazing. :)

I have seen some mixed reviews on the GSX 300. Have you had any issues?

Edit: I read that as GSP 300, not GSX 300, so my response might make less sense.

I have both the GSP 300 and GSP 500 (also very old Sennheiser HD 555s)

I've had the GSP 300s for 2 or 3 years now, and they are really good. I'm wearing them now because I want some sound isolation while working. Nice decent bass, good treble. I'm happy.
They are of course gaming headphones, so don't expect faithful music reproduction.
I will recommend them to anyone who asks for recommendations as they are good, yet (relatively) affordable.

The GSP 500s I got because I prefer an open back design like the HD 555s. They of course have a much more open soundstage and you get a better idea of sound position due to the open back design.
They are magnificent. When you get yours, watch the Top Gun trailer with the volume maxed out and be impressed. My Logitech Z5500s doesn't give the same OOMPH feeling that these cans do.

I do have some issues with the 500s though. Their impedance is higher, so you get a lower output volume. I would comfortably listen to them at 80% volume on my onboard audio. It's more than enough, but sometimes you just want a bit more, so I bought the GSX 1200 to drive them and give them just a bit more oomph.
They are also heavy. Not something I would normally care about, but they hurt the top of my baby head during long sessions. If you have a wider head so that it clamps around the ears harder, you should be fine.

As for 7.1 headphones. From what I've read, one decent driver in each ear will always trump 4 mediocre ones. And it makes sense. From an LTT test, the 7.1 stuff doesn't seem to help with games anyway. The GSX 1200 DAC also had a very nice 3D effect, but you can more accurately determine the source of sounds with it disabled.

Headphones all eventually break. I put mine on and take them off at least 20 - 30 times a day, so nothing lasts.
Im well and truly done with R2k+ headsets, they break just as quickly as cheaper ones do. I had a box with at least 8 broken headsets, everything from Logitech G series to Razor to Senns, they all die eventually.

My Plantronics didn't last all that long, but my HD555s are still going strong after probably 14 years. I used them at the office before where a cleaner bent their pin with a vacuum cleaner and the cable has been trampled by my chair more times than I can count.

Same, I have a set of HD485's as well, and they have been with me for 12 or so years. No issues. I wanted to use them instead of getting new ones, but I got the new ones at a good price, couldn't not go for them.
