Looking for some affordable accommodation near Parktown, Johannesburg

Hi guys,

I'm going on a trip to Cape Town but need to take a bus to JHB to get there - and with the bus schedule, it means I have to sleep in JHB for a night...it will be 3 or 4 of us so a self-catering place that charges per room rather than per person would be ideal. We're only going to be sleeping there for a few hours so I want a cheap place but nothing like Formula 1 or any other place where I'd have to be worried about our health/safety. lol.

Any suggestions? We'd prefer to be as close to the Parktown bus station as possible (traveling by greyhound).

It's about 5km north of Johannesburg Park Station, in the nicer leafy suburb of Parkview.

Sadly there aren't really any options right next to Park station unless you're willing to fork out on a proper hotel - which, as you say, you're not.

The Devonshire hotel and the Protea hotel are within walking distance to Park station. I wouldnt stay anywhere else if I was going to stay in Braamfontein to be close to Park station.
